December Member of the Month

We’re happy to welcome Beth Baculis to the HRA Member of the Month hall of fame!

What goes into selecting a HRA MOM? Glad you asked. Here is what we consider the cornerstone of being the best version of yourself with the HRA fam:

1) What is your favorite thing about Hudson River Athletics?

First off, for anyone who doesn’t know me I apologize for not saying ...“Hi, I’m Beth!”. I consider myself super shy at first, which leads me to my favorite thing about HRA… the people. Everyone is super welcoming and fun. I enjoy every workout, struggling in pain together! I love pushing myself and others to do more than we believed we could. Andrew, Cody, Jay and Bobby- a huge thank you for always encouraging me to run a little faster, dig a little deeper, and push myself just a little further. #onemore

2) What differences have you seen in your body, and health since starting at The Riv?

The most dramatic change has been my upper body strength. I am super psyched when I am able to do one arm thrusters and such with 35lb dumbbells.

3) Does training at Hudson River Athletics carry over in any way to your personal life?

Training at HRA impacts my life in multiple ways. Inside the gym, I love working out with my best friend and I’m always trying to beat him (even though he does more than one class, so I’m not sure if it counts). As a mental health counselor, I promote physical activity to reduce stress, increase neural growth, and release endorphins. Especially throughout this atypical year, self care is essential- for me, that is exercising. I am happier, sleep better, and have higher self-esteem when training.

4) What has been your favorite moment at The Riv and what has it meant to you?

My most memorable moment was the 31 Heroes workout at the farm: from pushing myself through the workout, to picking flowers, and learning how to play stump with the most amazing people.
