Battle of the Booty!

The "Battle of the Booty Squat Competition" went down on Saturday, November 21—and over 20,000 squats later, teams were able to raise a total of $15,591.95 for the Hoboken Community Center/Food Pantry.

Sponsored by FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group) of HBKN and JC, Hudson River Athletics, along with groups from other gyms in the area, hosted a squat competition in order to raise money for the Hoboken Community Center where participants we asked to do as many air squats as possible in the span of 5 minutes.

“It really is a testament of a community coming together to take care of their most vulnerable and using fitness to make it fun,” said Amy Frank Goldman of FLAG. “It is also amazing to me that these gym owners, who were shut down for months and are now subject to significant restrictions, offered to partner with me to make this such a massive success.”

The Riv is proud to announce that the person who performed the most squats was our very own Chelsea Blair, with an impressive 277 squats!

Hudson River Athletics and CrossFit Hoboken tied for the most money raised! In total, the Battle of the Booty competition raised $15,541.95 for the Hoboken Food Pantry. Four out of the top five donations were from members of the Riv!

It was a great day for all involved. The Riv community stepped up, made it happen and had a great time doing it. “This was such an incredible event for Hoboken as a community and our micro gym community. Thank you so much for putting this together. I am so proud of my gym!” said Riv owner Jay.
